The benefit of telepsychiatry includes the ability to attend your appointments from other locations such as your home or office, however you can not attend from anywhere. MindRx Mental Healthcare, LLC only provides services to Kansas residents. In order to attend appointments, you must be a resident of Kansas and located in Kansas at the time you attend your appointment. If you are going to be out of state at the time of a scheduled appointment, we ask that you please notify us in advance so that your appointment time can be moved to a convenient time when you are back in the state of Kansas.
MindRx Mental Healthcare, LLC is now accepting Cigna and Aetna HMO & PPO plans. We do ask that our patients with insurance please upload a copy of their current insurance card. The reason for this is to help expedite items such as prior authorizations for medications as required by your insurance from time to time. Additionally, MindRx Mental Healthcare, LLC can not see patients who have active Medicaid or Medicare coverage due to state and federal regulations around these insurances.
The federal government offers guidance for care via telepsychiatry, and different states may implement and apply different guidelines specific to telepsychiatry. MindRx Mental Healthcare, LLC strictly adheres to federal and state guidelines. The telepsychiatry landscape may also change over time as these guidelines are updated periodically and MindRx Mental Healthcare, LLC strives to stay at the forefront of this evolving landscape.
The lack of being physically in the same room does not inhibit the provider’s ability to diagnose and treat patients with a number of conditions. The provider can provide clinical diagnoses, treatments, and effective outcomes. The level of privacy and confidentiality is the same as in-person care. Research shows that telepsychiatry is just as effective as in-person, face-to-face care. Many patients, in fact, find that psychiatric treatment via videoconferencing is less intimidating or embarrassing.
Yes. Medications can be prescribed to patients who have been seen, diagnosed, and treated remotely. Prescriptions are transmitted electronically to the patient’s pharmacy of choice.
Telemedicine allows for the treatment of any condition that does not require physical presence to treat. Psychiatry is uniquely suitable for telemedicine practice. Therapy, counseling, diagnosis, and treatment for many psychological disorders may be conducted via telepsychiatry. This includes disorders or diagnoses relating to mood, anxiety, cognitive functioning, substance dependency, etc.
